Born in 1883 Gretsch first began as a small music shop in Brooklyn, specialising in banjos, drums and tambourines. Today, Gretsch are a hugely established and widely appreciated guitar, bass and drum brand. The Broadkaster kit’s were Gretsch’s number one drum set from the 20’s through the 50’s! With the help of advanced drum-making techniques, these iconic kits have returned. Now, with it’s stunning original feel combined with the innovations of today, the Broadkaster is truly the face of brilliance! Featuring thin, musical shells are made with a North American maple/poplar/maple formula that each include an interior-ply scarf joint for added structural integrity. Perfection is Gretsch’s goal and the shell interiors are another step towards just that, all of their USA-made drum shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer. To achieve tone that is incredibly warm and deep, Gretsch also hand finish the shells, using the exclusive reverse roundover bearing edge. Broadkaster toms and snares are outfitted with Gretsch’s “302″ 3.0mm, double flanged steel hoops for a more open tone than any die-cast hoops produce, as well as, added ambient overtones to the overall tonal characteristic.
